Hard work is paying off

May is graduation time and we are very happy to let you know that all the hard work is paying off for our members. Ivry Hall is graduating High School as the class valedictorian and will be attending Alabama State in the fall while pursuing a career in law enforcement and a spot in the 2020 Olympics for boxing. Martavier Lover is also graduating from High School and plans to attend community college while working at the same time!

Crushers invited to train with PFL fighters.

On Wednesday the 20th of June, seventeen Crushers were invited to participate in an open workout organized by the Professional Fighters League outside the Iconic Chicago Theater. Crushers hit the mat with PFL Fighter Brian Foster and had the chance to learn a few moves from Olympic champion Kayla Harrison.  You can watch a short video from the event here.

Cubs and Crushers, May 25th 2018

Dear Friend of Crushers Club,

I wanted to let you know about a fun and worthwhile event, organized by the Cubs Charities coming up on Friday May 25th, that features several of our top youth boxers.  Joe Maddon's Respect 90 Main Event takes place in the Wintrust Grand Banking Hall (231 S. LaSalle Street), where a full-sized boxing ring will be set up to host a number of amateur boxing matches that night.

It's a dream that took a woman from a comfortable, Northside, upper middle class life to the heart of Englewood where crime, poverty and gangs have chased away hope for so many. But with passion and purpose, this one woman is training young men how to beat their environment.
